A Renovated Victorian London Home with Stunning Gardens
We’re in London visiting the stunning Victorian home of interior architect Emily Pun.
When Emily and her partner first discovered the property, it was derelict—stripped of many of its original features, with the few remaining details hidden away. But excited by the challenge of a major renovation, Emily soon uncovered some magical gems, like an original fireplace concealed behind brick-patterned wallpaper and Victorian tiles.
Where original details had been lost, Emily thoughtfully reintroduced them. Ceiling roses and cornices now adorn the ceilings, and a stained glass door reminiscent of the Victorian era has been added. Wherever possible, she restored the original wooden floors, which had never been refinished.
Downstairs, a striking rear and side extension brings a modern twist to the historic home. Beautiful timber baffles and skylights create a dramatic effect in the new kitchen, while the garden outside is nothing short of stunning. With this home, Emily seamlessly honors its historic roots while breathing thoughtful new life into it.
